The Journal of Bacha Khan Medical College (JBKMC) is committed to the ethical and responsible dissemination of medical knowledge. This policy outlines the journal’s stance on copyright ownership, licensing, and reuse of published materials.

1. Copyright Ownership

Upon acceptance and publication of a manuscript in JBKMC:

  • Copyright of the published work is retained by the authors.

  • Authors grant the Journal of Bacha Khan Medical College and Bacha Khan Medical College (BKMC) a non-exclusive license to:

    • Publish, reproduce, and distribute the work in print and electronic formats

    • Archive the content for permanent record and indexing

    • Use the work for educational and promotional purposes with proper citation

Authors may share, deposit, or archive the published version of their work on institutional repositories or personal websites with full citation and journal acknowledgment.

2. Licensing Terms

All articles published in JBKMC are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

This license permits:

  • Unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium

  • Commercial and non-commercial use, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original authors and the source, a link to the license is provided, and any changes are clearly indicated

3. Use of Third-Party Material

Any third-party content (e.g., figures, tables, images) included in an article that is not covered by the CC BY 4.0 license must be:

  • Properly credited

  • Accompanied by written permission from the original copyright holder

  • Clearly labeled in a credit line as “Not covered by Creative Commons license”

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission for any such material prior to submission.

4. Author Responsibilities

By submitting a manuscript to JBKMC, authors:

  • Confirm that the work is original and has not been previously published or submitted elsewhere

  • Agree to publish under the CC BY 4.0 license

  • Ensure all co-authors are aware of and agree to the submission and licensing terms

  • Accept responsibility for obtaining necessary permissions for any reused material

5. Commercial Use and Reuse

Commercial users, educators, institutions, and media are permitted to reuse JBKMC content under the CC BY 4.0 license, provided proper attribution is maintained. No additional permissions are required unless otherwise stated.
