Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.in Vancor Style
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

1.Submission Instructions

  • All manuscripts must be submitted online via the journal portal.

  • Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.

  • Manuscripts must be written in British English, clear, concise, and professionally structured.


2. Manuscript Categories

  • Original Research Articles (max 3000 words, 5 tables/figures)

  • Review Articles (max 4000 words)

  • Case Reports (max 1500 words)

  • Short Communications / Letters to Editor (max 800 words)


3. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be arranged as follows:

For Original Articles:

  1. Title Page: Title, author names, affiliations, ORCID, and corresponding author’s contact.

  2. Abstract: Structured (Background, Objectives, Methods, Results, Conclusion), max 250 words.

  3. Keywords: 4–6 keywords (MeSH terms preferred).

  4. Introduction

  5. Methods: Include study design, setting, ethical approval, and statistical analysis.

  6. Results

  7. Discussion

  8. Conclusion

  9. Acknowledgments (if any)

  10. Conflict of Interest Disclosure

  11. References (Vancouver Style)


4. Formatting Requirements

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt

  • Spacing: Double-spaced

  • Margins: 1 inch on all sides

  • Page numbers: Bottom right corner

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx)

Tables and figures must be:

  • Included at the end of the manuscript or in separate files.

  • Labeled clearly with legends/captions.

  • Cited in the text.


5. Ethical Considerations

  • All studies must mention institutional ethical approval.

  • Clinical trials must include a registration number.

  • Authors must adhere to ICMJE and COPE ethical standards.

  • Plagiarism will result in immediate rejection. All manuscripts are screened using Turnitin.


6. Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that may influence the interpretation of their findings.


7. References and Citation Style

All references must follow the Vancouver style, cited numerically in the text within square brackets. List all authors if six or fewer; use et al. if more than six.

8. Submission Checklist

  • Manuscript follows the required structure and word limits

  • All authors’ affiliations and ORCID provided

  • Conflict of interest and funding disclosure included

  • Tables and figures properly labeled

  • References in Vancouver style

  • Ethical approval mentioned

JBKMC follows a double-blind peer review policy. The identities of reviewers and authors are kept confidential to ensure impartiality and objectivity throughout the review process.

4. Data Protection

All personal data provided to JBKMC are securely stored and protected from unauthorized access, misuse, alteration, or loss. Access to personal information is restricted to authorized editorial staff for legitimate editorial purposes only.

5. Use of Published Author Information

Author names, affiliations, and contact emails (when provided) are published as part of the article metadata. This information is publicly available to facilitate scholarly communication and citation and is used in accordance with academic publishing norms.

6. Website Privacy

JBKMC’s website may use cookies to improve user experience and monitor website usage statistics. No personally identifiable information is collected without user consent.

By submitting a manuscript to JBKMC or agreeing to review for the journal, individuals consent to the use of their personal data as described in this statement.
