Manuscript Submission Policy

Journal of Bacha Khan Medical College (JBKMC)

The Journal of Bacha Khan Medical College (JBKMC) welcomes the submission of original, high-quality manuscripts in the fields of medical, clinical, and health sciences. Manuscripts must be prepared according to the guidelines set by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and must not be under consideration or published elsewhere.

Online Submission via OJS (Open Journal System)

All manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through the journal’s online submission platform powered by the Open Journal System (OJS).

Step-by-Step Submission Process:

  1. Visit the JBKMC journal website: [Insert Journal URL]

  2. Click on “Register” to create an author account if you do not already have one.

  3. After logging in, select “New Submission” from the author dashboard.

  4. Follow the five-step submission process to upload your manuscript and supplementary files (figures, cover letter, etc.).

  5. Upon successful submission, you will receive a confirmation email with a submission ID for future correspondence.

  6.  Email submissions are no longer accepted. All authors must submit via the OJS platform.

Required Documents for Submission

Each manuscript must be accompanied by the following:

  • Covering Letter: A signed declaration from the corresponding author confirming:

    • The originality of the work

    • That the manuscript is not submitted or published elsewhere

    • Approval from all co-authors

  • Manuscript File: Including all standard sections as required (see Author Guidelines)

  • Figures and Tables:

    • Figures must be high-resolution images in JPEG or PNG format (300 dpi)

    • Tables should be included within the manuscript or uploaded as separate files

  • Ethical Approval Letter: Mandatory for clinical studies or research involving human or animal subjects

  • Patient Consent Form: For case reports or identifiable patient data

Formatting and Technical Requirements

  • File Format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)

  • Page Layout: A4 size, double-spaced, 1-inch margins, consecutive page numbers

  • Referencing Style: Vancouver style, numbered in the order of appearance in the text

  • Units: Use SI units consistently

  • Abbreviations: Spell out at first use; avoid in titles and abstracts

  • Drug Names: Use generic names, with brand names in parentheses only when necessary

Acknowledgment and Review Process

  • Submissions will be acknowledged within 7 working days.

  • Manuscripts will undergo a preliminary editorial screening for scope and compliance.

  • Suitable manuscripts will be sent for double-blind peer review.

  • Authors will be notified of the editorial decision within the standard review timeline.
