PUBLICATION ETHICS AND MALPRACTICE STATEMENT

The Journal of Bacha Khan Medical College (JBKMC) upholds the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. All authors submitting their works to JBKMC for publication as original articles, reviews, or other contributions must adhere to the following ethical guidelines.

1. Authorship and Contribution
Authors must ensure that they have significantly contributed to the research work. Each author should have participated sufficiently in the work to take public responsibility for the content, including the design, execution, or analysis and interpretation of the data. All authors must approve the final manuscript and agree to its submission. The corresponding author must ensure that all co-authors are included and that there are no inappropriate authorships.

2. Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must certify that their manuscripts are their original work. Plagiarism in all its forms constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable. This includes the use of text, data, figures, or ideas of others without proper acknowledgment. Manuscripts found to have been plagiarized will be rejected.

3. Data Access and Retention
Authors may be asked to provide the raw data in connection with their manuscripts for editorial review and should be prepared to provide public access to such data, if practicable. Authors must ensure the accessibility of such data for a reasonable period after publication.

4. Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication
Authors should not submit the same manuscript or substantially similar manuscripts to more than one journal concurrently. Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.

5. Acknowledgment of Sources
Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work.

6. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial or other substantive conflicts of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed.

7. Reporting Standards
Authors of reports of original research should present an accurate account of the work performed and an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data should be represented accurately in the paper. A paper should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the work.

8. Ethical Oversight
For studies involving human or animal subjects, authors must provide statements of compliance with relevant laws and institutional guidelines, including obtaining informed consent for experimentation with human subjects. The ethical treatment of animal subjects should also be described.

9. Peer Review Process
All submissions are subject to a rigorous peer-review process. Authors must participate in the peer-review process and provide timely responses to editors' requests for raw data, clarifications, or additional information to assist in the review process.

10. Corrections, Retractions, and Editorial Policies
When authors discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their published work, they must promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with them to either correct the paper or retract it. The editors of JBKMC are committed to upholding the integrity of the academic record and will act to correct any errors or misconduct identified post-publication.
